How to Fight With Splogs
|
|
Splog - spam blog which steal content from bloggers (often using RSS Feeds) to promote other websites or to make money with PPC programs.
Every viral post appears in hundreds splogs, it is enough to hit #1 page on Digg and sploggers attack a weblog.
Another form of splog I call Parasite Splog - splog which automaticly copy every post from specific (established) blogs. It is extremely hard to get rid from parasite splogger because he could be anywhere in the world, blog registered with free account, and your stories appear there automatically.
The most effective way to fight with splogs is turning off your full RSS Feed preview and provide only summary for each new post. Sploggers are interested in a lot of content and partial preview will decrease amount of thiefs.
Try to contact splogger and ask to remove your content. Most splogs don’t have contact forms and information but you can use comment field, or WHOIS information if splog is located on a separate domain. Explain person that content is protected and you can fill a lawsuit or DMCA Complaint.
Write complaint to search engines immediately if splog with your content rank higher than your site. Google has a link called Dissatisfied? Help us to improve on the bottom of search results where you can report splog.
Report Splogs using AdSense to Google:
From JenSense:
If you see a site violating the AdSense terms, you can now file an anonymous spam report that will get to the quality team for checking. To file a report, you simply go to the page that is showing AdSense ads and click on the “Ads by Google” (or “Ads by Goooooogle”) link. In the form on the next page, include the term “spamreport” and put in a short reason about why you feel the site is violating the AdSense terms or policies. You can also enter your own email address, if you wish, then click submit.
Extreme way to fight splogger is to kill hes business! Yep! Visiting splog you will find some Google Ads (sometimes Bidvertisier, ClickSor, AdBrite). Click this ads as many times as possible to ban splogger AdSense account. Google close accounts automatically when they see a lot of clicks from the same ip. It is also impossible to restore account.
